it was one of those days where everything seemed funny to the odd cat with the poisonous name. but arsenic wasn't poisonous, he was a very loving and misunderstood cat! the thought made him cackle out loud as he walked along the harbor, head held high and tail lazily swooping from one side to the other. a dazed expression was chiselled upon his orange face and a stupid grin had taken his mouth hostage. this wasn't peculiar for the young tom, he always looked happy, - no that was innaccurate, he almost always looked happy. except when he was asleep.
releasing a massive yawn, arsenic stopped and sat down. in the middle of the dock. he was thankful it was abandoned of any humans, seeing as it was far to early in the morning for them to be awake. heck, the reason why he was awake was something he wasn't sure of. but then again, there was a lot of things the large cat was unsure of. sighing, he looked around with his big goofy yellow eyes, his tongue sticking out slightly from his maw. "well this is boring." he pronounced out loud, not really caring whether or not anyone heard him. arsenic was just one of those cats that spoke to themselves on a regular basis.
growing anxious, he shot up to his paws once again and ran the full length of the dock and stopped at the end looking out over the vast span of water. tilting his head to the side, he sank to the wood with a thud and let his left forepaw dangle over the side, his head resting upon the dock itself. what a nice day, he thought to himself with another great sigh.

something was standing on the gravel/sand against the water. a paw swung out, trying to snatch a fish out of the water. sadly, it only ended in a splash of water in the cats face. pelt bristling against the cold wave, the pale ginger figure leapt back. she hadn't noticed the other cat already standing on the dock. so when she landed on the dock, she landed almost on top of him. her baby blue eyes widened in amazement, stumbling back. his goofy face. his tongue sticking out. his matted hair. it was urge enough to stand still and not go to groom his fur. it took all her willpower not to snap and beg him for her to help him. it took a lot, by far.
she forced herself to sit down, her eyes still wide, pupils spreading to cover of most of her blue eyes. no, she was not some stupid kit with nothing better to do than help cats who didn't need it. she was taught to help others before herself. no matter what. so even through her bright, happy-looking face she was grieving and mourning. she was almost dying inside. her pelt was ragged and bristly. not soft at all. her whiskers were long and often got snagged in tight corners. her claws were chipped and rough. her ears were even in bad shape. but her first thought was to help this scary looking tom.
ears twitching at the sound of water lapping at the gravel/sand she turned her gaze to that, her mind whirling with ideas to help him. she would follow him all over the place if she had to. she'd leave after she had finished. hopefully..

with a great cough, arsenic let out a very loud laugh, from the sight of a fish with a damaged fin. why this was so funny, he didn't know. it just was. he laughed at stupid things all the time however. like right now. it was just soo funny to him to see the poor mutilated fish. he really shouldn't laugh at it, yet here he was cackling like a loon, like one of those crazies that humans would lock uop. but not arsenic nopers, he was a free soul. the laughing fit stopped however once the fish was out of his direct line of sight. arsenic, rolled onto his back and was engulfed with the stench of a she-cat. it made him jump and almost slip off the end of the dock.
regaining his position on the end of the dock, sitting this time, he cocked his head to the side and stared at the cat with wide eyes. a she-cat! on the dock? and a pretty one at that he thought to himself. he smiled at her with his weird lop sided grin and took a step towards her, creepily as was his way. one of his ears was standing straight up, while the other on was laying against his head, and his tail flicked like it was no bodies business.
"well hello little lady!" arsenic boomed his eyes wide along with his smile. he hadn't talked to a she-cat in a while, hell, he hadn't even seen one since that thing that happened a while ago that he all of sudden couldn't remember. he shrugged it off, he was standing here talking with one of 'em! and she was peeer-tay! arsenic had himself a pretty little she-cat all to himself right now, and he liked that. he liked that alot.

with ears quivering at his booming laugh, her eyes flicked over to the sight of the fish he was snickering about. deep sadness crept over her at the sight of the poor thing. it flopped about, mouth opening and shutting like it was begging for help. but her eyes averted afterwards, and she watched the tom when his fit of laughter stopped. she stumbled backwards as he turned around to find her, and just as well almost flopped over the dock like the fish had.
as he regained his posture, she moved a few paces to him. she had no idea what she was doing, but he seemed to enjoy her presence. she had just suggested to herself that this might be a great time to help him. there was no other reason for her idea to go nearer the crazy, totally batty tom. as he smiled at her, she hesitated. is this the right thing to do? he moved toward her, and she sat, tail neatly curling over her paws. her ears immediately perked foreward, interest flooding her gaze.
her oval shaped ears curved farther inward as she took in the sounds of his voice, speaking that is. "well hello little lady!" he had said that to her. he broke into another goofy looking smile and she couldn't resist smiling back. yes, he may be slightly weird and definately insane. but she had taken a liking to him. she had a habit of liking cats like that. she noticed a change in personality and she tilted her head to the side. "sir? i was wondering if you needed something. i mean, i could groom your pelt, or get you something to eat.." at the mention of food, her own stomach growled. she suddenly looked very scrawny, and her pelt was clumped in places.

happily watching the little she-cat, arsenic mind starte to wander. why was he so attached to pretty little kitties? there was something there ... he couldn't remember though and sometimes it bothered him a lot. however, this thought, as it usually did, only remained present in his mind briefly. this time though, it was probably because the she cat was talking. my, she has a pretty voice, he thought to himself happily. he was talking to a sheeeeeeee-cat!
"no missy. my pelt is nice and cleean! all glossy and pretty just like you!" arsenic meowed cheerfully. it was sad, he actually thought this. in his growing senality, he had neglected the cleanliness of his pelt, and he had believed it clean ever since he lost that thing ... that he couldn't remeber. arsenic's ears perked at the mention of food and he stood onto his paws tail flicking like crazy, eyes very, very wide. "food? why, you'd hunt for a big strong, able bodied tom cat like me?" he inquired, head tilting to the side at an odd angle. this she-cat was really weird, but sweet! he liked that.
he studied her body, and laughed when he heard the sound of her stomach growl. she was mighty thin for a pretty little she-cat. she was the one that was needing food, not the senile orange cat. raising his head high like a proud mother, he looked down at her and announced: "I'll hunt for you little lady! you need food more then big ol' arsenic!" he trotted off tail and head held high and proud. he was going to catch something for the she-cat whom appeared to have no name. a nice plump juicy, something.

with his eyes watching her, she felt a small, easy-going smile spread over her features. brief memory went over him. but he didn't seem to realise, although he did say things. their was still a very goofy grin on his face, so she flicked her tail, waiting for his response. her ears straightened when he seemed to begin to speak. she was interested in hearing his voice, if again or for the first time.
she looked deeply confused when he spoke. he was talking about his pelt being all clean and glossy. and just like her's? her pelt was by far not clean. all matted and dirty. his pelt was much better than hers. but not by much. another brief memory seemed to play over him. but just like the lasst time, it faded immediately. she shifted eagerly when his ears perked when she had mentioned food. his tail flicked insanely, and his eyes grew unusually wide. she suddenly looked worried, like she had said something bad. but when he spoke, she brightened again. "of course i would! why wouldn't i?" his head tilted to he side, and he smiled slightly, almost smiling at her for her sweetness.
he seemed to study her, then laughed suddenly when her stomach growled. absent-mindedly she licked her chest fur, trying to hide her shame. she jumped when he said that he, of all cats that would even talk to her, would catch her something to eat. her eyes widened and her ears flicked backwards slightly. "oh, no! i don't need food. you do!" but he was already trotting off to find her something. she sighed and flicked her tail. she was slightly thrilled. someone was doing something nice for her!
