ROLEPLAY RULES
roleplay
1.
YOU MUST HAVE TWO GOOD SIZED PARAGRAPHS PER POST. Though if there is one paragraph with the word count of 200 words, you are fine. We are advanced, remember.
2.
WHEN POSTING, YOU ARE ROLEPLAYING A CAT. So substitute "said" with: meowed, mewed, mewled, yowled, growled, hissed, spat, grunted, snorted, caterwauled, etc. Depending on how your character says it, will differ in what word you use. You are not limited to just those, you may also use words such as answered, replied, or asked.
3.
USE CORRECT GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION AND SPELLING. You are a human being, so don't type IM, slang, or abbreviation.
4.
YOUR CHARACTER'S ACTIONS DO NOT REFLECT YOU IN ANY WAY. Which means, you can have your character be mean to another person's character or voice opinions that contradict yours. Remember, when you role play, you are role playing the character, not yourself. However, this does not mean you can be mean to MEMBERS while role playing, only their CHARACTERS.
5.
BATTLES AND FIGHTING. When fighting you must give your opponent a chance to fight back. Do not say you flayed your opponent every time, and you can not say something such as "Hawkfur bit down hard on his opponent's tail and he ran away into the forest" - unless you are fighting a "random" cat and not an actual member, and you can not give them severe injuries (clawing their eye, biting their throat, etc.) unless you ask them permission with PM.
You are given the privilege to actually hurt another member's character without their permission five times during a battle. This makes it so all characters in a battle are vulnerable to getting hurt, which makes it more realistic. Minor wounds like clawing an ear, splitting a claw off are allowed without permission from the other rper.
If you or another member seriously does not want their character to be attacked in a certain way, then you can discuss that via PM. Otherwise, your characters are vulnerable to be beaten up by anyone else. All we ask is that you STAY REALISTIC. Don't have your character go and break someone's spine and tear off half their flesh. I've given you the freedom to attack others - don't abuse that freedom, or it will be taken from you.
You can not kill someone without their permission and mine. I must approve the way you kill them, and that the other person actually does agree to it.
6.
BE SURE TO WATCH YOUR DESCRIPTION. This includes battles, mating, dreams, and love. You can not post about how a cat's organs are spilling out or anything super gory like that. You may, however, describe blood, bones, muscle, and flesh to an extent. Just not so that it's super rated R violence. You can NOT go into mating AT ALL. This forum is rated PG (as far as mating goes at least). If I catch you posting anything close to this, I will delete you without warning. The farthest you may go is this: "Stormclaw and Leafnose twined their tails together. They laid beside each other and fell asleep together. A few days later, Leafnose discovered that she was pregnant." You can only say some love lines and then that they did it already.
Dreams are the same, they can't be about descriptive battle or mating or love.
As far as love goes, the cats can twine tails, rub/lick affectionately, or say "I love you". Cats do not kiss each other. You can not have your character say "You're so sexy" or anything like that either. These are cats for goodness sake!

YOUR CHARACTER MUST BE REALISTIC. You can not say that he has super long claws, or long sharp teeth. Super-sonic hearing and sharp eye-sight is allowed occasionally. But you cannot cat that your character has the sharpest teeth or the longest claws.
2.
NO MARY-SUE CHARACTERS. These are cats with no flaws, and have no bad habits. Even the most perfect cats have flaws. Be realistic. If you can't think of flaws, maybe your not cut out for here, or you might need more practice.
3.
PLEASE MAKE WELL-DEVELOPED CATS. Don't rush together a personality and appearance just because you want a tortoiseshell she-cat or a tom named Paint. The reason you should be making a character is because of their personality, not their name or appearance.
Your character profiles must be deep. When compared to a meal, we don't want left-overs, I want the King's buffet. If you think that you've fully covered the character's personality in your short paragraph, then expand on some minor details, such as a habit, a flaw, a talent, or a like/dislike of the character. If you are deeper with the character's personality, it will be easier and more realistic when you role play them.
4.
TRY TO MAKE THEIR HISTORY INTERESTING. I know kits and sometimes young characters don't have very long histories, but most older cats SHOULD. This doesn't mean you have to write a novel for their history, but try to make it interesting. Don't just have them "be normal" with "a normal past". Everyone's life is different growing up. It should be the same with your character too. The third and final codeword is 'roars'
character profiles
1.
THE CODEWORD MUST BE IN ALL PROFILES. Yes, there is a code-phrase required to make a biography. It consists of three words, in order, and must be in every bio that you make. It is very difficult and annoying for whoever is accepting your bio to have to see if you had any previous bios that you posted the codeword in, so please, just put it in every bio and help make our lives easier.
2.
NO UNFINISHED BIO'S. Please if you are making a character in the 'Create' board, just finish it the first time you start it. If you know you can't finish it in time and will have to do it later, we have this handy place called 'Unfinished' where you can post it. If an unfinished bio is found in the Create board, it will be moved. To many times and it will be deleted.
3.
DO NOT HAVE MULTIPLE CATS PER BIO. Make a new thread for every cat. It makes it easier for the staff to look over and accept it and if you need to edit the bio later, it makes it a lot easier too.
additional
1. You can have as many cats as you can play, although cats who are rarely played will be deleted, to many cats that are not used collect, and us staff dislike that.
2. You must list all cats in your signature, so people who are roleplaying can peer at all your cats.
3. Be sure to make a character log, so you can store all your little cats that you've made.
thank you for your co-operation,
